A LIFETIME OF LEADERSHIP: WHY DR. M. M. ZANGO STANDS Out FOR KANO CENTRAL SENATE 2027 TO SERVE HIS PEOPLE.

In a political environment where experience, competence and integrity are constantly tested, the profile of Dr. M. M. Zango presents a rare blend of professional excellence, administrative depth and grassroots connection.

Born on November 25, 1964, in Zango quarters of Kano City to Alhaji Musa Alilluku Zango and Hajia Umma Kaltume, Dr. Zango’s journey began from modest roots shaped by faith, discipline and a deep respect for education.

From Islamic schooling in his early years to Gidan Makama Primary School and later Government Secondary Schools in Dawakin Tofa and Gwaram, he demonstrated academic brilliance, passing his WASC in 1982 with distinction.

His academic progression to the School of Basic Studies at Ahmadu Bello University culminated in a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 1986.

He would later expand his intellectual horizon with an MBA and a Master’s in Health Planning and Management from the University of Maiduguri, and ultimately a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Benin in 2015.

This trajectory reflects not ambition alone, but deliberate capacity building.

His early career with the Kano State Health Management Board saw him as a pioneer member of the Drug Manufacturing Unit.

In 1991, after a competitive process, he joined NNPC, marking the beginning of a transformative corporate and healthcare leadership journey.

Across Benin, Maiduguri and Warri Medical Zones, Dr. Zango was not a passive administrator.

He built systems.

He initiated drug quality screening collaborations with academia.

He developed strategic frameworks for new medical zones.

He led health awareness campaigns across multiple states.

In Warri, he pioneered the Control-2-Goal initiative focused on early detection and management of hypertension, diabetes and obesity — long before preventive healthcare became fashionable policy language.

In 2017, he became General Manager, New Business, NNPC Medical Services Limited. By March 2020, he was appointed Managing Director — the first pharmacist in NNPC history to hold that office.

Under his leadership, the state-of-the-art Utako flagship hospital facility was actualised, significantly expanding healthcare infrastructure for staff and Nigerians alike.

Strategically, he secured landed properties in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and Maiduguri aimed at establishing multi-specialty hospitals and drug manufacturing plants — a direct contribution toward reducing medical tourism and strengthening local capacity in line with national socioeconomic goals.

Before his retirement in 2023, he served as Acting Group Executive Director of NNPC and sat on multiple boards including NNPC HMO, NNPC Foundation and NNPC Medical Services Limited.

His governance exposure spans policy, finance, health systems, corporate reform and institutional expansion.

Within the pharmacy profession, his footprint is equally significant.

As Chairman of PSN Borno (2001–2004), he contributed to establishing the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Maiduguri and donated land for the PSN secretariat.

He sponsored national student programs, professional awards, unified pharmacy emblems across institutions and skill development initiatives for young pharmacists nationwide.

His recognitions — including induction into the PANS National Hall of Fame (2023) and multiple excellence awards — reflect peer acknowledgment of substance, not symbolism.

Beyond corporate and professional achievements, Dr. Zango’s humanitarian credentials are visible through the Fatah Zango Foundation and The Zango Project Nigeria, both focused on health access, education support, widows, orphans and the vulnerable.

His philanthropic engagement in Kano Central spans over two decades — consistent, quiet and impact-driven.

He is a Fellow of multiple professional bodies including the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Academy of Pharmacy, Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria, Occupational Safety and Health Association (UK), Institute of Planning Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria.

This is not a résumé built for politics. It is a record built over decades of performance.

As Kano Central evaluates representation under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the question is not merely popularity — it is preparedness. Legislative effectiveness requires policy literacy, financial oversight competence, healthcare reform understanding, and the ability to navigate federal structures.

Dr. Zango’s background intersects precisely with these demands.

Kano Central is a metropolitan bloc with complex socio-economic needs — youth employment, healthcare infrastructure, SME growth, education reform and regulatory oversight.

A candidate with tested executive leadership at national scale brings strategic advantage.

Dr. Zango presents himself as committed to the people, grounded in faith, seasoned in governance, and prepared to translate administrative depth into legislative impact. His supporters describe him as a humanitarian per excellence. His record suggests a builder of systems, not noise.

For authorities, party leaders and constituents assessing suitability, the evidence is measurable: decades of institutional leadership, national-level executive responsibility, professional credibility, and sustained community philanthropy.

In a constituency that demands competence as much as compassion, Dr. M. M. Zango positions himself not merely as an aspirant — but as a prepared representative ready to deliver structured dividends of democracy to Kano Central.

The National Patriots Movement proudly endorses Dr. M. M. Zango for Kano Central Senate 2027 under APC. His distinguished tenure as MD of NNPC Medical Services, combined with over 20 years of sustained philanthropic interventions through the Fatah Zango Foundation, reflects tested leadership and measurable impact. From healthcare expansion to youth empowerment and support for the vulnerable, his record shows capacity, compassion, and competence. Kano Central needs proven governance — Dr. Zango stands prepared to deliver.

Mr. Peter Obi: Nigeria is Not the Problem.

This short note is for Mr. Peter Gregory Obi and to all those who mistake leadership failure for NATIONAL IDENTITY.

Stop using the world stage to drag our name through the mud. Calling us a “Disgraced Nation” isn’t an observation; it’s a betrayal. You cannot claim to want the keys to the house while you’re outside telling the neighbors the foundation is rotten. Please STOP it now.

I read your post on Facebook few minutes ago and I want you to take a different approach.

The entity is innocent. Nigeria as a land, a people, and a sovereign identity is blameless. The “disgrace” belongs solely to the individuals who held the mantle of power including you and failed to carry it. The “disgrace” belong to politicians who move from one party to the other. The “disgrace” belong to politicians who team up with structures of CRIMINALITY.

As a student of politics, I know that in leadership and nationhood, there is nothing inherently broken about Nigeria. The rot exists in the boardrooms and the government offices, both private and public.

Stop trying to perform “strength” for the cameras or your base. They are recently asking you to talk tough like a man, but you can pretend to be who you are not. And I say this with every sense of responsibility “If you have to be coached to look like a leader, you aren’t one” You cannot project a strength you don’t possess.

Stop talking down on the country that gave you a platform. Nigeria is not a disgraced nation; it is a great nation currently suffering from a crisis of character in its elite.

You are one of them.

If you can’t speak of Nigeria with respect, you have no business leading it.

Enough is enough….

Please shãrê this.
