Rev. Sunday Agang, a pastor with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Jos and Chairman of its Board of Trustees, has regained his freedom days after being abducted.

The church confirmed his release in a statement on Friday, expressing joy and gratitude over the development. It stated that the cleric is now safe and in good condition.
ECWA attributed his release to divine intervention and the collective prayers of its members and supporters, appreciating those who stood in solidarity during the difficult period.

Despite the positive outcome, the church raised concerns over the growing insecurity in the country, noting that kidnapping has increasingly become a troubling trend. It described the situation as a serious threat that requires urgent attention.

The church also called on government authorities at all levels to fulfill their responsibility of protecting lives and property, urging decisive action to curb the rising wave of abductions.
Observers have pointed out that the targeting of religious leaders reflects the increasing boldness of criminal groups and underscores the need for stronger security measures, especially in vulnerable areas.

Agang was reportedly kidnapped earlier in the week at his residence in Jos, Plateau State, after gunmen intercepted him and took him to an unknown location. His abduction sparked widespread concern and prayers among church members both within Nigeria and abroad.
Even after his release, ECWA maintained a message of hope, reaffirming its commitment to peace, unity, and continued prayers for the safety of all Nigerians.
