The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has congratulated its newly elected state executives and chairmen following the successful conduct of its congresses across the country.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party described the peaceful elections as a clear demonstration of its commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and the rule of law. It also announced that the inauguration of the new officials is scheduled for May 12, 2026, or a later date to be communicated.

The party urged the elected leaders to stay committed to its vision and work in alignment with the leadership of its National Chairman, David Mark, as efforts continue to strengthen the party’s structure nationwide.
ADC further expressed confidence that the new state executives would help deepen its grassroots presence and build stronger connections with Nigerians, emphasizing the need for unity, discipline, and dedication in advancing the party’s goals.

Despite challenges, including the derecognition of its leadership by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following a court ruling, the party proceeded with its congresses in several states.

A party chieftain, Ralph Nwosu, defended the decision, stating that the ADC had complied with electoral laws and would not allow its activities to be disrupted. He noted that the party had duly submitted its schedule to INEC and would continue with its planned programmes, including its upcoming national convention.

Nwosu added that the ADC remains focused on building a credible political alternative, stressing that the party is committed to selecting capable leaders who can drive meaningful change in the country.
