#Alleged Muslim Marginalisation: Tinubu Not Angry With Sanwo-Olu Over Cabinet List

Contrary to reports in some online media, President Bola Tinubu is not angry with Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu over alleged marginalisation of Muslims in his forthcoming cabinet, Headlinenews has gathered.

Some Muslim groups in the state, led by the Muslims Rights Council (MURIC) and the Joint Muslims Forum (JMF), had petitioned Tinubu, claiming that out of 39 names forwarded by the governor to the House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, only 8 are Muslims.

However speaking with our correspondent on Sunday, a member of the State Working Committee of the party said President Tinubu is not angry with the governor over the list.

According to him, the list was compiled by all the major stakeholders in Lagos APC and was also shown to President Tinubu who then approved it.

“ The president is not angry with the governor over the list. Those saying he was angry are only spreading falsehood. The list was not drawn by the governor alone. It was the input of party leaders in Lagos APC”.

“The Governance Advisory Council (GAC), which is the highest decision-making body of the APC in Lagos APC made input into the list. Those of us who are members of the State Working Committee also made input. After the final list was drawn, the governor then showed it to President Tinubu who then gave his approval. So, anyone saying the president was angry with Sanwo-Olu over the list was telling a lie” he said.

Also speaking with QUESTTIMES, a former Minister of Works and chieftain of APC, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe said Lagosians are not interested in things that will cause division among them. He added that what should be of interest to everyone is performance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the majority.

“Lagos state has passed that stage of placing religion over performance. We are not interested in things like that. What we want is good governance. Let the majority enjoy the government. That is what should be paramount to us. Let us leave religion at the background”.

“ There are countries that not religious today but they are prosperous. We must do good to the greatest number. Religion can be domesticated in the churches and mosques. It shouldn’t be a factor in anything we are doing now”.
