The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that its national convention will hold in March 2026.
On Saturday, the party released a detailed timetable for its 2025/2026 nationwide congresses at ward, local government, state, and zonal levels, culminating in the national convention.
According to the schedule signed by APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, the activities are in line with Articles 11 and 17 of the party’s constitution and are designed to elect officials across all levels.
The process will kick off with membership e-registration from December 1, 2025, to January 30, 2026. Notices of congresses will then be sent to state and Federal Capital Territory chapters on February 2, 2026.
The timetable indicates that purchase and submission of forms for ward and local government area (LGA) congresses will take place from February 4 to February 9. Screening committees for ward and LGA positions will be inaugurated on February 10, with aspirant screening scheduled from February 11 to 13.
Ward congresses are slated for February 18, with appeals to be heard on February 19. LGA congresses, which include the election of three delegates (including at least one female) to the national convention, will hold on February 20, and appeals on February 21.
At the state level, forms for state executive positions will be available from February 23 to 27. Screening and appeals will take place in late February and early March, with state congresses scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026. Appeals from state congresses will run from March 9 to 11.
Zonal congresses and the national convention preparations will begin with the purchase and submission of forms from March 12 to 17. Zonal offices for the six geopolitical zones are designated as follows: Ibadan (South West), Enugu (South East), Rivers/Cross River (South South), Kaduna (North West), Gombe/Bauchi (North East), and Nasarawa (North Central).
Zonal congresses will be inaugurated on March 18, with aspirant screening on March 19 and 20. The zonal congresses across all zones are set for Saturday, March 21, 2026, and appeals will be heard on March 23.
The APC National Convention is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
