The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on Monday visited Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf to reinforce the party’s 60/40 leadership-sharing formula and commend the growing unity among party members in the state.

During the courtesy visit, Yilwatda expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of party supporters and leaders, describing it as a clear demonstration of cohesion and commitment within Kano APC.
“I am deeply impressed by the turnout of our members and leaders. It reflects unity, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to the progress of our party in Kano State,” he said.

The APC chairman reiterated that the 60/40 arrangement, designed to balance representation between new decampees and existing members, promotes inclusiveness, strengthens party unity, and encourages active participation in both party and governance activities. He noted that the gathering highlighted renewed momentum that could bolster support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of upcoming general elections.

“The 60/40 formula is about fairness and inclusivity. It ensures that both longstanding members and new entrants feel a sense of belonging and responsibility in advancing the party,” Yilwatda added.
He also commended Alhaji Yusuf Gawuna and Senator Barau Jibrin for prioritising party unity over personal ambitions, aligning with the governor’s vision for APC in Kano. Additionally, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje was praised for his leadership and contributions to the cohesion and growth of the party in the state.

Responding, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to the national leadership for the visit and for its efforts in promoting peace and unity within the state’s APC. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with party stakeholders to ensure Kano remains united, prosperous, and in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The governor highlighted that the strong turnout and solidarity at the meeting reflected the readiness of APC members in Kano to collaborate for both the party’s progress and the state’s development.
