Nigerian Army troops apprehended notorious bandit leader Idris Idris, alias Babawo Badoo, and 37 other suspects in operations across Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Borno, Yobe, Kwara, Katsina, Bauchi, Imo, and the Federal Capital Territory over three days. The operations rescued 15 kidnap victims, neutralized two terrorists, and recovered high-caliber ammunition, locally fabricated weapons, and logistics items.

On October 20, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE arrested Babawo Badoo in Lugere Village, Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, recovering an AK-47 rifle, 10 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a mobile phone, and ₦12,000. In Saya Village, Plateau, 19 suspects were detained. In Borno, Operation HADIN KAI and the DSS arrested an ISWAP/JAS informant at Customs IDP Camp, Jere, and neutralized two terrorists in Gujba, recovering an AK-47 with magazines. Six terrorist collaborators were arrested in Borno and Yobe, with 33 jerrycans of petrol and other items seized.

Troops rescued four victims in Kwara, five in Katsina, one in Plateau, and two injured civilians in Bauchi, who were evacuated for treatment. In Imo, a suspected IPOB/ESN member was arrested with a locally made pistol, while five illegal immigrants were intercepted in the FCT. Chief of Army Staff Lt-Gen Olufemi Oluyede praised the troops’ efficiency and urged sustained efforts to enhance security and support economic and agricultural growth.
