ATIKU VISITS KWANKWASO AS ADC CONSOLIDATES AHEAD OF 2027 POLLS

Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday visited former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at his residence, in what appears to be part of ongoing consultations within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The visit comes just days after Kwankwaso’s defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the ADC, a move widely seen as boosting the party’s strength within the opposition.

Although details of the closed-door meeting were not made public, Atiku described the engagement as part of efforts to reposition the party and address governance challenges.

“I paid a courtesy visit to the residence of my brother and partner, His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso, this afternoon,” he wrote on his X account.

“We had quality discussions on the progress of our party, the ADC, and how we must continue the work to ensure good governance and recovery are achieved in good time for the people.”

The meeting highlights increasing political realignments and strategic talks within opposition ranks as preparations gradually intensify for the 2027 elections.
