Bandits struck Tashan Yari village in Makarfi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State on Monday night, abducting a pregnant woman, the wife of Malam Bala, from Unguwan Lole. The assailants invaded the village, located just 2–3 kilometers from Makarfi town, firing indiscriminately before carrying out the kidnapping, according to a local source who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters via WhatsApp. Further details about the attack are still emerging.
This marks the second violent assault in Makarfi LGA within a week. On October 9, 2025, bandits attacked Gimi Tasha village in the same LGA, killing Uwais Yahaya and abducting his mother, who remains in captivity. During that raid, the assailants shot Yahaya’s father, Alhaji Yahaya Ilu, and his brother, Ibrahim Yahaya. Ibrahim succumbed to his injuries over the weekend, while Alhaji Yahaya Ilu is recovering in a hospital. The earlier attack also left two family members injured, with the bandits targeting Uwais Yahaya’s mother while sparing his wife.
Makarfi LGA, located in Kaduna North senatorial district, continues to face escalating insecurity, with these incidents highlighting the persistent threat of banditry in the region.
