The Anambra governorship election holds tomorrow, November 8, 2025, with top contenders vying to occupy the Government House in Awka.

Incumbent Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) seeks a second term. The former Central Bank Governor highlights achievements in infrastructure, budgeting reforms, and investment promotion. While critics cite lingering insecurity, Soludo insists his administration has restored peace and ended the sit-at-home order.
Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) promises inclusive development, job creation, and industrialisation. A former AMAC chairman and House of Representatives member, he says he will end political godfatherism if elected.
Jude Ezenwafor, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is a real estate developer and former aide to ex-governors Peter Obi and Willie Obiano. He vows to transform Anambra into an economic hub and promote inclusive growth.

George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP), a former NIWA boss and business administrator, is endorsed by Peter Obi. He pledges accountability, infrastructure renewal, and a technocratic approach to governance.
Other candidates include Chioma Ifemeludike of the African Action Congress (AAC), a Nollywood actress turned activist championing youth inclusion; Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), who focuses on security and business revival; and Chuma Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who campaigns on job creation, e-governance, and anti-corruption.

Tomorrow’s election will test Soludo’s popularity, APGA’s dominance, INEC’s new leadership, and the security agencies’ ability to ensure a peaceful poll.
