The Barcelona Legends have confirmed they will take on African Legends in an exhibition match at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on October 25.
The game, scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m., will mark the team’s next stop after previous outings in Georgia, Argentina and Mexico.
Headlined by Brazilian great Ronaldinho, the Barca Legends squad features former stars who once donned the Blaugrana jersey, including Rivaldo, Carles Puyol, Javier Saviola, Gaizka Mendieta and Philip Cocu. More recent additions have included David Villa, Edgar Davids, Nolito and Ricardo Quaresma. The team is managed by former right-back Albert “Chapi” Ferrer.
While the African Legends’ line-up has not yet been unveiled, expectations are high that Nigerian icon Austin “J.J.” Okocha and other continental stars will feature, especially with the match being staged in Abuja.
