BAUCHI GOVERNOR ACCUSES FG OF PERSECUTION

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has alleged that the Federal Government is using the EFCC to “persecute” him and his cabinet members for refusing to join the APC.

Speaking while receiving an ambassadorial safety award, Mohammed expressed concern that despite his constitutional immunity, his name was mentioned in an EFCC court motion targeting his Finance Commissioner, Yakubu Adamu, who faces N5.79 billion money laundering allegations.

Mohammed stated that the prosecution of his cabinet is politically motivated, aimed at pressuring him to align with the ruling party. He warned that he would no longer remain silent if such actions continued.

“If they don’t stop, we are going to declare war. I won’t allow anybody to criminalise me because I’m not in their party, and I refuse to join their party,” he said.
