Assistant Commissioner of Police, Benjamin Hundeyin, has officially handed over duties to the newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid.
The handover ceremony took place on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, located at Louis Edet House in Abuja.
The appointment of Placid as the new Force Public Relations Officer was earlier approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as part of ongoing internal restructuring within the police force.

Placid, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, is regarded as a seasoned officer with extensive experience in administration, operations, intelligence, training, and international peacekeeping missions.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the outgoing spokesperson, Hundeyin.
Born on December 2, 1970, in Uyo, Placid hails from Mbiokporo Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Uyo and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the University of Jos. He also studied Law at the National Open University of Nigeria.
Placid joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1996 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police at the Nigeria Police Academy and was formally commissioned in August 1998.

Over the years, he has attended several professional and international courses, including the United Nations Peace Operations Specialised Training programme. His training also covers areas such as Police Studies, Military Studies, Gender Awareness, International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights, and Civilian Protection.
He has also participated in the UNITAR Senior Leadership and Peacebuilding course in Kenya, further strengthening his expertise in peace operations and leadership.
