Born into a legacy of greatness as the only daughter of the late Israel Adebajo and his wife, Irene, Princess Gloria has carried forward her family’s rich heritage in Nigerian sports. She made history as the first woman in the world to preside over a popular professional male soccer club, Stationery Stores Football Club. Her groundbreaking leadership caught global attention, leading the BBC, led by Hilary Anderson, to document her remarkable journey—a feature that was aired worldwide. Recognizing her pioneering role, then-FIFA President Sepp Blatter honored her for breaking gender barriers in sports administration.
Beyond sports, Princess Gloria has played a key role in Nigeria’s agricultural development, pioneering the first large-scale trickle irrigation project in Africa. She led this initiative alongside her Israeli associates on Dadinkowa Dam, Gombe State, one of Nigeria’s largest dams—demonstrating her innovative vision in economic and infrastructural advancement.
Her impact in national development was officially recognized in 2005 when she became the first female in Lagos State to receive the prestigious national honor of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).
