#Boko Haram Now Active on TikTok, Using Drones Against Nigerian Military – Analyst Raises Alarm

Bulama Bukarti, a senior fellow at the Extremism Policy Unit of the Tony Blair Institute, has raised serious concerns about Boko Haram’s expanding tactics, warning that the terrorist group is now actively using TikTok to spread propaganda and deploying drones for military surveillance.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bukarti revealed that Boko Haram members are hosting live broadcasts in Hausa on TikTok, using the platform to spread their ideology and engage directly with viewers through comments.

“Right now, when you go on TikTok, you’ll find verified Boko Haram accounts going live to promote their extremist beliefs,” Bukarti said. He added that he was recently the subject of a 10-minute threatening video posted by the group.

Even more alarming, Bukarti disclosed that Boko Haram has begun using unmanned aerial drones to monitor and map out Nigerian military positions in the northeast. “In the past three months alone, we’ve seen over seven coordinated Boko Haram attacks on military super camps,” he said. “They overwhelmed the troops, killed some soldiers, captured others, and looted weapons, food supplies, and medical equipment.”

His comments come just days after Senator Ali Ndume revealed that Borno State lost at least 100 soldiers and 280 civilians to Boko Haram attacks over a six-month period.
