The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja was briefly shut down on Wednesday after a private Gulfstream 400 jet, with registration number 5N-PZE, experienced an incident on the runway.

The aircraft, which arrived from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu at about 2:16 p.m., was carrying 14 passengers and four crew members. Airport officials closed the runway as a precaution, while emergency teams were deployed to the scene.
All passengers and crew were reported safe, and flight operations were suspended until the jet could be removed and the runway cleared for use.

Although the cause of the incident was not immediately known, officials said relevant authorities had been notified. FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, confirmed awareness of the situation but said details would be provided later.
