Former Delta State Governor and 2023 PDP vice-presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). His defection comes alongside that of his successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and other key political figures in the state.
The move follows an expanded stakeholders’ meeting held in Asaba on Wednesday, during which the entire structure of the PDP in Delta State was reportedly collapsed into the APC.
Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, announced the development. He was joined by Senator James Manager, one of the founding members of the PDP in the state.
Aniagwu revealed that Vice President Kashim Shettima is scheduled to officially receive Governor Oborevwori and the “PDP family” into the APC fold at a formal event in Asaba next Monday.
