Bandits have kidnapped an Anglican priest, Reverend Edwin Achi, and his wife, Sarah Achi, from their home in Nissi village, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A member of the Anglican Church of Nigeria confirmed the abduction to SaharaReporters, saying it happened early Tuesday morning. The source also criticized the lack of media coverage on the incident.
This latest attack adds to the growing insecurity in Kaduna State. Just last week, bandits killed two police officers during an assault on the Divisional Police Headquarters in Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf LGA.
Earlier this month, nine people—including three children—were killed in another attack in Layin Danauta village, Birnin Gwari LGA. Local sources said the slain minors were daughters of a resident, Alhaji Salisu Maiwada, while several others were left critically injured.
