President Bola Tinubu hosted Denmark’s wealthiest individual, Anders Holch Povlsen, CEO of fashion giant Bestseller and chairman of the Bestseller Foundation, at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday.

The meeting, aimed at strengthening Nigeria-Denmark economic ties and attracting foreign investment, was attended by Danish Ambassador Jens Hansen and other senior officials.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga shared photos of the visit, highlighting efforts to deepen bilateral relations.
Povlsen, whose net worth exceeds $8 billion, oversees a global retail empire with brands like Jack & Jones and Vero Moda.

The visit aligns with Tinubu’s aggressive investment drive. Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole revealed that the president’s over 30 foreign trips have secured $50.8 billion in proposed investments—surpassing the $50 billion needed annually to stabilize Nigeria’s foreign exchange.

Recent commitments include $2.5 billion from Brazilian meat producers announced during the G20 summit.
Tinubu has made 46 international trips since taking office, spending 192 days abroad, including 15 trips to 11 countries in 2025 alone.
