The Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has neutralised 438 Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists within seven months of sustained military operations.
The Theatre Commander, OPHK North-East Sector 1, Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, disclosed this on Saturday during a Christmas luncheon held in Maiduguri. He explained that the coordinated operations were carried out between May and December.

According to him, troops also recovered 254 assorted weapons and about 300 Starlink communication devices, while rescuing 366 civilians from various terrorist enclaves.
He added that the surrender of 881 JAS/ISWAP fighters alongside their family members further highlighted the progress achieved by the operation.

Maj.-Gen. Abubakar noted that the Christmas celebration coincided with ongoing dry-season operations in the theatre and assured the Chief of Army Staff of the continued determination and commitment of the troops to sustain the momentum.

He attributed the successes recorded across the Joint Operations Area to strategic interventions and support from the Chief of Army Staff, stressing that the military remains resolute in degrading terrorist capabilities in the North-East.
