The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the schedule for the promotion examination and interactive session for senior police officers seeking elevation from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) to Commissioner of Police (CP).
An internal wireless message dated November 25, 2025, issued by the Nigeria Police Force Secretary (NIGPOL FORSEC) in Abuja, was circulated to all zonal commands, formations, departments, and state commands across the country.

According to the message, the promotion interview is slated for Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Hon. Chairman’s Conference Room, Corporate Headquarters of the PSC, Plot 64, Cadastral Zone, Jabi, Abuja, starting promptly at 8:00 a.m.
The Inspector General of Police directed that the following DCPs be released to attend the interview:

The message advised the officers to refresh their knowledge in core areas such as police duties, professional studies, law, local acts, and dress codes ahead of the exercise.

In terms of appearance, the officers are expected in conventional black jacket, beret, and swagger cane. All participants must report for briefing and transportation at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the interview.
Additionally, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Mobile Police (AIGPOL MOPOL) has been instructed to provide 12 well-prepared armed personnel for escort duties.

The Transport Department (TRANSFOR) is to deploy a serviceable vehicle for conveying the officers, along with two Hilux vans for escort. All vehicles must be on standby at the Force Headquarters parade ground by 6:00 a.m.

The directive, marked “Confidential/Immediate”, emphasizes that all instructions are highly important and must be strictly adhered to.
