BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu Files Application At Appeal Court Seeking Stay Of Proceedings In Trial By Justice Omotosho

Detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has filed a motion before the Court of Appeal in Abuja seeking to halt further proceedings in his ongoing trial before Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court.

In the motion dated November 12, 2025, Kanu asked the appellate court to stop Justice Omotosho from delivering judgment on November 20, pending the determination of his appeal challenging key rulings in the case.

Kanu argued that the trial court refused to address critical jurisdictional issues, evaluate prosecution evidence properly, or allow him to present witnesses in his defence.

He warned that continuing the trial could lead to an unlawful conviction and undermine his right to a fair hearing.

Kanu urged the Court of Appeal to grant a stay of proceedings, stressing that doing so would serve the interest of justice in a case that has dragged on since 2015.Headline news
