In a recent Facebook video, renowned Nigerian cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele reaffirmed his prophecy that former President Goodluck Jonathan was the last Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader to govern Nigeria.
During his address, Ayodele recalled his pre-2015 election prophecy, stating, “I said Jonathan will be the last PDP president,” emphasizing its divine origin. He noted that God has not given him any further revelation about a PDP president since Jonathan’s tenure ended.
Ayodele, whose prophecy was initially met with skepticism, pointed out that Nigeria’s political trajectory has aligned with his prediction. “You don’t understand what I’m saying,” he said, clarifying that his words stem from divine instruction, not personal views.
His comments come as speculation swirls about the PDP’s future in Nigeria’s political arena. The party, which held power from 1999 to 2015, has struggled to regain the presidency. Ayodele’s remarks fuel discussions about the party’s prospects in upcoming elections and the role of religious prophecy in Nigerian politics.
The cleric, known for political predictions, urged leaders to seek divine guidance. His statement adds a new layer to debates on the intersection of religion and governance in Nigeria.
