Breaking! Prince Harry and King Charles reunite at Clarence House For Tea in a Closed Door Session After 18 months.

Father and son share private tea after more than 18 months apart

Prince Harry met with King Charles at Clarence House this evening, marking their first face-to-face encounter in over a year and a half.

The Duke of Sussex arrived at the King’s London residence at around 5:20pm, spending just under an hour inside before leaving at 6:15pm to attend a reception linked to the Invictus Games, the veterans’ tournament he founded in 2014. Buckingham Palace confirmed the pair shared a “private tea,” but aides declined to provide further details.

King Charles, who had flown into RAF Northolt from Aberdeen earlier in the afternoon after time at Balmoral, was already at Clarence House following an investiture ceremony for Holocaust survivor Manfred Goldberg, 94, who received an MBE.

The meeting represents the first significant step toward reconciliation between father and son since Harry’s last brief visit to the UK in February 2024, shortly after the King’s cancer diagnosis was made public. At that time, royal watchers speculated that relations might be improving, though tensions continued as Harry pursued legal battles over his UK security arrangements and spoke critically in interviews.

This latest encounter, though short, is being seen as a positive signal. With Harry due to return to the U.S. after one more engagement tomorrow, the long-awaited meeting could mark a turning point in the strained royal relationship.
