Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the National Assembly, has formally aligned herself with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Her official registration into the party is scheduled for Thursday at the ADC’s national secretariat located in Wuse, Abuja.

The development was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday by her media aide, Kennedy Mbele, who noted that the move marks her formal departure from the Labour Party (LP) and her entry into the ADC.
The statement disclosed that the registration event will be witnessed by top party officials, ADC candidates contesting in the February 21 FCT area council elections, party supporters, as well as members of the media.

According to Mbele, Kingibe’s decision to join the ADC positions her as the only sitting senator currently serving under the platform of the emerging opposition party.
