#BREAKING: Terrorists Release 7 More Kidnapped Victims Of Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack

Terrorists who carried out the Abuja-Kaduna train attack have released seven from the remaining 35 victims in their custody.

Recall, on March 28, 2022, terrorists detonated a bomb on an Abuja-Kaduna bound train track at Katari, a village in Kaduna state and open fire on the train. The attack result in about eight people being killed, some injured and many others were taken hostage.

On Sunday, July 24, 2022, in a video shared by the terrorists, 43 victims yet to be released were flogged, and they threatened to Kidnap President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Barely twenty four hour after the video, three of the 43 victims were released from the custody.

Earlier this month, another five were released, after many months in captivity.

However, in the new development, on Wednesday, August 9, 2022, seven more have been released which include a family of six, but it wasn’t clear if ransom was paid.

The identities of the released family of six are Abdubakar Idris Garba, his wife, Maryam Abubakar Bobo, and their eldest son, Ibrahim Abubakar Garba, who’s 10 years old.

Others include Fatima Abubakar Garba (7), Imran Abubakar Garba (5), and youngest Zainab Abubakar Garba, who is only one and half years old.

Abubakar Idris Garba, a staff of the National Assembly Service Commission, is the son of a former Military Administrator of Kano and Benue States.

Also released is a 60-year-old woman, one Hajia Aisha Hassan, who was said to have been released due to life-threatening health challenges that deteriorated recently.

Although Tukur Mamu, Publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald and Media Consultant to a controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, withdrew as one of the negotiators, he confirmed the release of the seven hostages to journalists in Kaduna.

Mamu said the seven were released following the intervention of his principal, Gumi.
