President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred national honours on Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and several others.
The announcement was made during Tinubu’s October 1 national broadcast.
Kekere-Ekun and Akpabio were awarded the prestigious honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON). Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas received the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) award, while Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu was honoured as Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
The president noted, “As is the tradition, the government will soon announce all the beneficiaries of our national honours for 2024.”
