President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to inaugurate projects implemented by Governor Babagana Zulum.
The president is set to commission schools, electric vehicles, and various other initiatives completed by Zulum in partnership with the federal government.

On Friday, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, announced that Tinubu will undertake a three-state tour covering Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos beginning Saturday, December 20.
The president is also scheduled to attend the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff.

Following the commissioning in Maiduguri, Tinubu will travel to Bauchi to offer condolences to the state government and the family of the late Muslim cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who passed away on November 27.
After the Bauchi visit, Tinubu will proceed to Lagos, where he will spend the Christmas and end-of-year holidays. His schedule in Lagos includes multiple engagements, notably serving as the guest of honour at the Eyo Festival on December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square.

The festival will celebrate prominent Nigerians, including Tinubu’s mother, Abibatu Mogaji, and former governors Lateef Jakande and Michael Otedola, according to Onanuga.
President Tinubu’s visit to Borno comes shortly after he presented the 2026 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly on December 19, 2025.
