##Buba Galadima Calls For Recolonisation, Says Britain Should “Return And Sanitise Nigeria”

Buba Galadima, a northern politician and senior member of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has criticized the Nigerian government for failing across all key sectors, warning that the country is on the brink of collapse. In an interview with AIT on Monday, he said the administration has faltered in areas such as security, agriculture, rule of law, and democratic accountability.

Galadima went as far as suggesting that Britain could consider re-colonising Nigeria to restore order, security, and good governance.

“If they cannot secure this country, then perhaps Britain should return and take over,” he said. “They could restore law and order, teach us proper democracy, and eliminate corruption.”

On the worsening conditions of insecurity, poverty, and political manipulation, Galadima urged Nigerians to resist vote-buying.

“The solution is simple: don’t accept their N200 or their Indomie noodles,” he stated. When the interviewer noted that poverty often forces citizens to take such bribes, Galadima responded bluntly: “Then take it and endure the consequences. That’s not my concern.”

The seasoned politician stressed that citizens must take responsibility for electing poor leadership, noting that even amid rising insecurity in the North, he continues to work his land.

“If I stay at home, I go hungry. If I go to the farm, there’s a chance I survive,” he said. Galadima criticized government policies that he claims have crippled local agriculture, saying: “They’ve opened our borders to imports. A bag of beans costs N25,000. How many bags must a farmer sell to buy fertilizer?”

Highlighting the fragile security situation, he warned that even Abuja could become vulnerable. “At this pace, coordinated bandits could take over the capital,” he said. “If 500 motorcycles, each with three bandits, come from Kaduna, Lokoja, and Keffi, what military unit can stop them?”

When asked about Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, Galadima reminded viewers that Gumi previously served in the military and dismissed the notion that he was hired to negotiate for the government. “The authorities know exactly what to do, but the right course doesn’t fill pockets,” he said. He described Gumi as an alternative voice amid the government’s failing strategies.

Galadima also took aim at Nigeria’s political class, saying critics, rather than sycophants, often speak the truth. He argued that the country might need radical solutions—including the involvement of foreign mercenaries—if the government is unable or unwilling to restore security and governance.

“Does it matter whether the person bringing peace and food is blue, black, or yellow?” he asked. “I am being patriotic. That’s why I have the courage to say this.”
