World-famous boxer Anthony Joshua has stirred widespread discussion online after sharing a thought-provoking post about faith and religion on social media.
The British-Nigerian heavyweight champion took to his official Snapchat page to pose a reflective question to his followers, drawing attention from fans across different religious backgrounds.
Joshua’s post comes weeks after he survived a devastating road accident in Nigeria. The incident occurred on Monday, December 29, 2025, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway near Danco Filling Station, close to the Sagamu Interchange in Ogun State. According to eyewitness accounts, the crash happened at about 11 a.m.
At the time of the accident, two members of Joshua’s team—Latif and Sina—were seated in the front of the vehicle, while the boxer was in the back seat. Tragically, Latif, his personal trainer, and Sina, his strength and conditioning coach, lost their lives at the scene. Joshua was rushed to the hospital and later recovered. The remains of the two men were subsequently flown to the United Kingdom for burial.
Demonstrating resilience in the face of loss, Joshua later shared footage of himself back in training. The video, posted on Snapchat, showed him working to regain both physical strength and mental balance, marking his gradual return to routine following the tragedy.
Shortly after, the boxer sparked fresh debate by asking a deeply personal question about faith. He wrote: “Can you have a deep relationship with God and make it to heaven without religion?”
The post quickly generated mixed reactions from followers, with responses reflecting a wide range of beliefs.
