Chamber of Commerce 65th Anniversary and Presidential Inauguration

In a grand celebration of bilateral relations and business excellence, the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) commemorated its 65th anniversary and inaugurated its 20th National President, Alhaji Sheriff Balogun, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island. The event, themed “The Power of Cooperation: 65 Years of Optimizing Nigerian-American Economic Relations,” was attended by a distinguished array of dignitaries, including His Royal Highness Malam Dr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Emir of Zazzau, who served as the Royal Father of the Day .

Established in 1960, the NACC has been instrumental in fostering trade and investment between Nigeria and the United States. Over the decades, it has served as a pivotal platform for business development, networking, and strategic cooperation, contributing significantly to the economic landscapes of both nations .


Leadership Transition and Vision
Alhaji Sheriff Balogun, a seasoned member of the Chamber’s board and former Deputy President, assumed the presidency, succeeding Dame Adebola Williamson. In his address, Balogun outlined a forward-looking agenda focusing on:

A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of plans for a new multi-storey NACC headquarters, symbolizing the Chamber’s commitment to expanding its influence and capabilities. Additionally, 52 new members were inducted, reflecting the organization’s growing reach and relevance.
