Former University of Lagos student, Chidinma Ojukwu, on Monday told a Lagos High Court that she never discussed the death of Super TV CEO, Michael Ataga, with her co-defendant, Adedapo Quadri.

While being cross-examined by Quadri’s lawyer, Babatunde Busari, Ojukwu said her only dealings with him were for the supply of “Loud” (a strain of cannabis) and Rohypnol, and for his help in producing her school ID card. “I never discussed Ataga’s death with Adedapo. He knew nothing about what happened between me and Ataga,” she said.
Ojukwu, Quadri, and Chioma Egbuchu are on trial for a nine-count charge filed by the Lagos State Government. Ojukwu and Quadri face charges of conspiracy and murder, while Egbuchu is accused of stealing Ataga’s iPhone 7.

The defendant also admitted taking a brown envelope from the apartment where Ataga was killed, claiming it contained his personal documents — including IDs, bank statements, and a passport belonging to one Mary Johnson — which she said she took “by mistake.”
During the hearing, Ojukwu’s lawyer, Onwuka Egwu, tendered several letters previously objected to by the prosecution. Justice Yetunde Adesanya admitted them as evidence, including correspondence with the Lagos Ministry of Justice and the Inspector-General of Police.

Ojukwu also presented several electronic devices — an iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone X, and a 2019 MacBook Pro — identifying which belonged to her and her sister.
Justice Adesanya adjourned the case to November 6 for continuation of trial. The prosecution alleges that Ojukwu and Quadri murdered Ataga on June 15, 2021, at his Lekki apartment.
