CHINA, JAPANESE COMMUNIST PARTY CONDEMN U.S. KILLING OF IRAN’S SUPREME LEADER, KHAMENEI AS THREAT TO SOVEREIGNTY

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chairman of the Japanese Communist Party, Kazuo Shii, have strongly condemned the reported killing of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling it a serious violation of international law and an attack on national sovereignty.

In a statement on Sunday, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the action undermines Iran’s territorial integrity and national security, and violates the principles of the UN Charter. The statement urged an immediate halt to military operations and called for efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Middle East and globally.

While China did not explicitly name the United States, the condemnation follows widespread reports that the operation was carried out under the authority of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Similarly, Kazuo Shii criticized the alleged killing, describing it as a blatant breach of international norms. He stated that no country, regardless of its military or political influence, has the right to unilaterally assassinate the leader of a sovereign nation. Shii emphasized that such actions are “utterly shocking” and must be condemned.
