COMMUTERS ATTACKED BY ARMED ROBBERS AT MILE 12, KETU – LAGOS POLICE REACTS

Commuters travelling along the Mile 12–Ketu corridor in Lagos were terrorised on Monday morning, February 16, 2026, when armed robbers reportedly attacked vehicles on the busy road, brandishing cutlasses and attempting to force open car doors.

The incident gained immediate attention on social media, with one eyewitness posting: “At Mile 12 this morning, boys were robbing cars with cutlass. They even tried to force open my guy’s door. Between Mile 12 and Ketu, there are two police stations, yet we have the most notorious boys in that axis. Ijoba, e gba wa o 🙏.”

In response to the alarming reports, the Lagos State Police Command swiftly addressed the situation. Spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi stated that the Commissioner of Police has directed the Area Commander, the Divisional Police Officer, and Tactical Teams to immediately intensify patrols and launch a decisive crackdown on criminal elements operating along the axis.

 

SP Adebisi emphasised the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, assuring residents and commuters that no area will be left unmonitored, particularly those known for recurring criminal incidents.
