EFCC Chairman Says Corruption Hinders Nigeria’s Blessings, Calls for National Unity Against Graft
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has warned that corruption is preventing Nigeria from enjoying the full blessings and potential God intends for the nation.

In a Christmas message delivered in Abuja on Wednesday, Olukoyede urged Nigerians to come together to fight corruption, describing it as a major barrier to national prosperity, growth, and respect on the global stage.
“Corruption is holding our nation back. We must confront it boldly so that the abundant life God intends for Nigeria can be fully realised. Together, we can make our country stronger, richer, and greater,” he said.

The EFCC chairman called on citizens to embrace the values of Christ—love, hope, and light—as guiding principles to drive positive change in society.
“Nigeria needs the hope, love, and light that Christ brought to the world. These values are essential if we are to move the nation forward,” he added.

Olukoyede also encouraged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, saying it should inspire confidence in the country’s future and reinforce faith in Nigeria’s ability to overcome its challenges.

“Let the Renewed Hope agenda spark renewed belief that Nigeria will rise again,” he said.
His remarks come amid ongoing economic difficulties, declining public trust in governance, and the continued efforts of law enforcement to tackle corruption and financial crimes nationwide.
