CPC Status: Renewed Drive To Prevent Attacks On Churches & Mosques. DSS, Army, Police Patrol Religious Places of Worship In FCT .

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched special patrol operations around churches and border communities, following directives from Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye.

The move comes after U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments alleging the killing of Christians in Nigeria and threatening possible U.S. military intervention.

Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said the operation—conducted on November 9, 2025—covered forested and border routes linking Bwari to Kaduna and Niger, as well as Gwagwalada to Niger. The patrol, which involved the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, DSS operatives, hunters, and vigilantes, ran from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Adeh noted that church leaders were advised to strengthen local vigilance, limit late-night gatherings, and report suspicious activities. She added that identified criminal routes have been blocked and security posts reinforced.

CP Dantawaye assured residents that the FCT remains safe, stressing that public safety is a shared responsibility. He said the Command will continue adopting intelligence-led strategies to maintain peace and security.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police Force is working to address personnel shortages, as the active workforce stands below its authorised strength of 450,000 officers due to recruitment delays and attrition.Headline news
