Dangote Refinery Launches Free Fuel Distribution Monday, Cuts Petrol Price to N841/Litre

The Dangote Refinery will kick off its free fuel distribution program on Monday, according to PUNCH.

Anthony Chiejina, spokesperson for the Dangote Group, announced that the initiative will begin in Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States. Additionally, the refinery has reduced petrol prices to N841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, and N851 per litre in Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States.

“We will commence the free fuel distribution on Monday, starting with Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States, with reduced prices effective the same day,” Chiejina stated.

Initially planned for August, the program was postponed due to logistical issues in China. The refinery has now received over 1,000 trucks to support the initiative, with more states expected to benefit as additional trucks arrive.

In a Thursday statement, Dangote Group highlighted its rollout of 10,000 CNG-powered trucks to enhance logistics and reduce costs across Nigeria’s distribution chain, despite a recent doubling of CNG prices.

“We remain committed to our 10,000 CNG truck rollout this year, undeterred by the recent CNG price increase,” the company affirmed.
