Grammy-nominated singer Davido has announced his decision to join the Accord Party, following the political path of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The singer disclosed this in a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that he would be in Osogbo to collect his party membership card at Imole House, the Osun State Government House.

Davido’s move comes about two weeks after Governor Adeleke formally adopted the Accord Party as his new political platform ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State. Adeleke had earlier defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing a leadership crisis at the national level.

According to the governor, his decision to join the Accord Party followed extensive consultations with stakeholders and opinion leaders, and he officially became a member on November 6 as part of preparations for his re-election bid in 2026.
