Here are some Hadiths relevant to the 20th day of Ramadan, focusing on the virtues of the last ten nights, seeking forgiveness, and increasing worship:
1. Virtues of the Last Ten Nights
Aishah (RA) reported:
“When the last ten nights of Ramadan began, the Prophet (ﷺ) would tighten his waistbelt, spend the night in worship, and wake his family.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)
This Hadith reminds us to increase our devotion and acts of worship as we enter the final days of Ramadan.
2. Seeking Laylatul Qadr
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Seek Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan, in the odd nights.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)
Since Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree) could fall on the 21st night, the 20th day is a reminder to prepare spiritually and engage in extra worship, dua, and Quran recitation.
3. Dua for Forgiveness
Aishah (RA) asked the Prophet (ﷺ):
“O Messenger of Allah, if I find Laylatul Qadr, what should I say?”
(Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni)”
(“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.”)
(Tirmidhi)
This dua should be recited frequently as we approach Laylatul Qadr.
4. Rewards for Fasting
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)

The 20th day reminds us that we are nearing the end of Ramadan, and we should make the most of this blessed time to seek Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
May Allah grant us the strength to worship sincerely in these final days and bless us with the rewards of Laylatul Qadr.

Here are some Qur’anic verses that are relevant for the 20th day of Ramadan, focusing on forgiveness, worship, and the last ten nights:
1. Seeking Forgiveness
“And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.”
(Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:133)
This verse encourages us to increase our repentance and seek Allah’s mercy, especially in the last ten nights of Ramadan.
2. The Power of Laylatul Qadr
“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.”
(Surah Al-Qadr 97:1-3)
Since Laylatul Qadr could be near, this verse reminds us of its immense blessings and the need to seek it in the last ten nights.
3. Increasing Worship in the Last Ten Nights
“And worship your Lord until certainty (death) comes to you.”
(Surah Al-Hijr 15:99)
As the final phase of Ramadan begins, this verse encourages us to remain steadfast in worship and devotion.
4. The Reward for the Righteous
“Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers, in a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.”
(Surah Al-Qamar 54:54-55)

This verse serves as motivation to remain steadfast in good deeds, reminding us of the reward awaiting the righteous in Jannah.
May Allah accept our worship, forgive our sins, and grant us the blessings of the last ten nights of Ramadan.

As we advance deeper into Ramadan, it is important not only to fast — but to fast correctly, and to break our fast in the manner taught by the Prophet ﷺ.
Ramadan is discipline.
It is worship. It is refinement of character — even in how we eat.
The Prophet ﷺ encouraged believers to hasten to break the fast once the sun sets.
He said:
“People will remain upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast.”
(Bukhari & Muslim).
The Sunnah method of breaking the fast is simple and balanced.
The Prophet ﷺ would break his fast with fresh dates.
If fresh dates were not available, then dry dates.
If dates were not available, then a few sips of water.

(Abu Dawud)
This teaches moderation.
Start light. Pray Maghrib. Then return to eat properly — without excess.
Allah warns us clearly:
“Eat and drink, but do not be excessive.”
(Qur’an 7:31).
Ramadan is not a month of overeating.
Heavy, oily meals immediately after fasting can weaken the body and reduce concentration in Taraweeh and night worship. Hydrate gradually.
Include fruits, vegetables, and balanced meals.
Preserve your strength for ‘ibadah.
Most importantly, do not miss the du‘ā at the moment of breaking the fast.
The fasting person has a supplication that is not rejected at ifṭār.
This is a spiritually powerful moment — between patience and relief.
An authentic du‘ā to recite is:
Dhahaba al-ẓama’u wabtallati al-‘urūq wa thabata al-ajru in shā’ Allāh
“The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.”

(Abu Dawud)
Another widely recited supplication is:
“O Allah, for You I fasted, in You I believe, upon You I rely, and with Your provision I break my fast.”
Beyond these, ask Allah personally — for forgiveness, mercy, health, protection, and barakah.
Ramadan is not about ritual hunger.
It is about spiritual elevation.
Break your fast with gratitude. Eat with discipline.
Make du‘ā with sincerity. Protect your reward.
May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our shortcomings, and grant us steadfastness throughout this blessed month.

The early days set the tone.
If we begin strong, sincere, and humble, the rest of the month follows with barakah.
Bismillāh ir-Raḥmān ir-Raḥīm.
Yā Allah, as we complete the first days of fasting, strengthen our consistency.
Do not let our enthusiasm fade. Make our fasting a shield for us.
You said:
“O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you… so that you may attain taqwa.” (Qur’an 2:183).
Yā Rabb, grant us true taqwa — not hunger without transformation, not thirst without reflection — but hearts that fear You privately and publicly.

On this twentieth day, we ask You for firmness.
“Our Lord, pour upon us patience and make firm our steps.” (Qur’an 2:250)
Grant us patience in fasting.
Patience in prayer. Patience with people. Patience with ourselves.
Allahumma ṭahhir qulūbanā — purify our hearts.
Allahumma aṣliḥ niyyātinā — correct our intentions.
Allahumma aj‘al ṣiyāmanā ṣiyāma ṣādiqīn — make our fasting the fasting of the truthful.
Yā Allah, protect us from spiritual laziness.
Protect us from showing off.
Protect us from wasting Ramadan in distraction.

You promised:
“Indeed, with hardship comes ease.” (Qur’an 94:6)
For those struggling financially — bring provision.
For those battling illness — grant shifā’.
For those facing insecurity — grant safety.
For those burdened with anxiety — grant sakīnah.
Yā Allah, forgive our parents — living and deceased.
Elevate their ranks and widen their graves.

“My Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day of Judgment.” (Qur’an 14:41).
On this twentieth day of Ramadan, write us among those whose names are recorded among the forgiven.
Make us among those freed from the Fire.
O Allah, You love to pardon — so pardon us.
Strengthen our faith. Increase our discipline.
Elevate our character. Accept our fasting and prayers.

O Allah, forgive our sins, purify our hearts, and make us among Your righteous servants. In this blessed month, decree for us mercy, forgiveness, and freedom from the Fire.
Qur’an Verse for the 18th Day of Ramadan
Translation
“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Surely He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.’”
— Surah Az-Zumar (39:53)
The sixteenth day of Ramadan reminds believers that no matter how heavy one’s mistakes may feel, the door of Allah’s mercy remains wide open. Ramadan is not only a month of fasting but a season of return — a time to seek forgiveness, mend our hearts, and renew our relationship with our Creator.
May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our shortcomings, and fill our hearts with faith, patience, and sincerity. Ameen.

O Allah, purify our hearts from hypocrisy, our deeds from showing off, our tongues from falsehood, and our eyes from betrayal.
Indeed, You know the treachery of the eyes and what the hearts conceal.
Qur’an Verse for the 19th Day of Ramadan

— Surah Al-Baqarah (2:153)
Here is a prayer (du’a) for the 19th day of Ramadhan, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and spiritual strength:
Du’a for the 19th Day of Ramadhan
Allahumma waffir fihi hazzī min barakātihi, wa sahhil sabīlī ilā khayrātihi, wa lā taḥrimnī qabūl ḥasanātihi, yā hādiyan ilal-ḥaqqil-mubīn.

For the 18th day of Ramadan, themes that scholars often emphasize are Allah’s vast mercy, forgiveness, and the purification of the believer through fasting.
These authentic hadiths fit well with that spiritual focus.
Hadith 1 — The Special Reward of Fasting
Translation
“The deeds of the son of Adam are for him, except fasting. It is for Me, and I alone will reward it.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari (1904) and Sahih Muslim (1151)
This hadith reminds believers in the middle days of Ramadan that fasting carries a unique reward known only to Allah, making every moment of patience, hunger, and sincerity deeply valuable.
Hadith 2 — The Fragrance of the Fasting Person
Translation
“By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, the smell from the mouth of a fasting person is more beloved to Allah than the fragrance of musk.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari (1894) and Sahih Muslim (1151)
This narration reminds us that even the hardship of fasting is honored by Allah.
What may seem unpleasant to people is valued by Allah as a sign of devotion and sacrifice.
Short Reflection for Day 16 of Ramadan.
As Ramadan moves past its midpoint, these hadiths remind believers that fasting is not merely abstaining from food and drink. It is a private act of worship between the servant and Allah, filled with unseen rewards. Every moment of restraint, patience, and remembrance is recorded and multiplied.
May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our sins, and allow us to reach the last ten nights with sincere hearts. Ameen.
