The Awujale Kingmakers Council has cancelled a planned meet-and-greet session earlier scheduled to hold at the Aafin Awujale and has instead directed all Awujale nominees to report to the Department of State Services office in Ijebu-Ode.
The directive was contained in an official communication issued to key representatives of the Fusengbuwa ruling house, informing them of the sudden change in arrangements. According to the notice, all nominees are to present themselves at the DSS office located along NTA Road, beside the State Psychiatric Hospital, off Igbeba Road, Ijebu-Ode, by 11:00 a.m.
The council explained that the decision led to the cancellation of the engagement at the palace and expressed regret over any inconvenience the adjustment may cause. Nominees were urged to strictly comply with the directive and ensure punctual attendance.
The letter conveying the instruction was signed by the Secretary of the Awujale Afobaje Council, Chief Ayotunde Ola Odulaja, who emphasised the importance of adherence to the new arrangement.
The development comes amid ongoing traditional and administrative processes surrounding the Awujale nomination in Ijebuland. Details of the purpose and expected outcome of the DSS engagement were not disclosed at the time of this report.
