President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to back lawful efforts to stabilize the country and reject forces that threaten national well-being, as Christians worldwide celebrate Easter 2026.

In his Easter message, the President encouraged citizens to act as “brothers’ keeper” and align with national initiatives aimed at restoring peace and security, emphasizing that unity is essential to overcoming the nation’s challenges. He noted that Easter symbolizes sacrifice, resilience, and the triumph of light over darkness, values he said are particularly relevant to Nigeria today.

Tinubu highlighted ongoing efforts by his administration and the Armed Forces to tackle terrorism and banditry, reassuring citizens that resources and international partnerships are being leveraged to achieve results. He recalled his recent visit to Plateau State, where he commiserated with victims of violence and received assurances from security heads of continued progress.

“No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace,” the President said, stressing the importance of national unity and collective resolve.
On economic reforms, Tinubu acknowledged the short-term pressures faced by citizens but said they are necessary for long-term prosperity. He linked the Easter message to Nigeria’s political landscape, urging political actors and citizens to uphold the rule of law in the lead-up to future elections, guided by the Electoral Act and a shared commitment to peace, stability, and the country’s long-term interests.

The President expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic trajectory, stating that key indicators suggest the country is on the right path, and urged citizens to continue contributing to national progress.
“I enjoin you to keep the faith, and never cease to contribute to the progress and greater future we seek,” Tinubu added.
