The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has officially launched its 2026 recruitment drive, inviting qualified nationals from member countries, including Nigeria, to apply for more than 30 positions within its institutions.
The recruitment exercise aims to strengthen the execution of ECOWAS’ sectoral programs across key departments. Interested candidates can apply online through the official ECOWAS careers portal.
Positions available in Nigeria cover roles such as Office Aide, Programme Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager (Bilingual Secretary), Junior Accountant, Accountant, Legal Officer, Political Advisor, Principal Officer, Registrar, Head of Division (Library and Documentation), and Head of Hansard, all based in Abuja.
For roles outside Nigeria, vacancies include Administrative and Finance Officer in Addis Ababa, PPO (Sports Policy) in Liberia, Principal Programme Officer (Water Supply and Sanitation) in Conakry, and various administrative and legal roles in Dakar, Senegal.
Applicants must meet specific age requirements: 35 years for General Services or Support positions (G1–G7), 45 years for Professional positions (P1–P7), and 50 years for Director positions (D1–D2). Female candidates are encouraged to apply. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Applicants are required to submit a completed official application form, CV, and cover letter via designated email addresses. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The deadline for submission is April 30, 2026.
ECOWAS stressed that the recruitment process is free and warned applicants against scams requesting payments or personal financial information.
