EDO 2027: OYEGUN RECEIVES OBIDIENT MOVEMENT IN EDO INTO ADC.

Chief John Oyegun, former Governor of Edo State and national leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has welcomed the defection of a faction of the Obedient Movement in Edo State into the party.

The defection comes after a segment of the Edo State Obedient Movement, led by Comrade Ikhuenbor Felix Igbinevbo, joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) last week to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Felix stated, “About 95 percent of our members here were part of the Obedient Movement and Labour Party supporters. We backed Peter Obi in 2023, but we have resolved to support President Tinubu for a second term because we believe his reforms will benefit the ordinary citizen.”

However, Chief Oyegun described the movement into ADC as a clear sign that Nigerians are ready to engage in the struggle for leadership change.

“A new Nigeria is truly possible,” Oyegun said. “A few days ago, I welcomed Dele Momodu to our coalition. Today, I see a large gathering of youths committed to nation-building, and it is inspiring. These young people have decided to take up the struggle by joining the ADC, and I am very pleased.”

He added, “From the day this coalition came together, I have been confident that we are on the right path. We all know the state of the nation and Edo State is not ideal, and through the ADC, we aim to create a new Nigeria.”

Edo coordinator of the Obedient Movement, Asemota Idiogbe, reaffirmed that the ADC remains the only party capable of challenging the APC in upcoming elections.
