The commission also seized over N17 million, reportedly intended for vote buying activities.

According to the EFCC, the arrests occurred on Saturday, February 21, 2026, across different FCT councils. The suspects were apprehended in Abaji (2), Gwagwalada (9), Kuje (4), and Kwali (4).

One suspect was found with N13.5 million in a car near a polling station in Kwali. The offences reportedly include vote buying, vote selling, and obstruction of electoral officers.

The commission stated that all suspects will face prosecution after investigations are concluded.

The February 21 elections, conducted across the six FCT area councils—Abaji, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali, and Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC)—saw reports of voter inducements. Observers documented financial offers ranging from N1,000 to N5,000 per voter, particularly in Gwagwalada and Kuje.

Election results announced by INEC showed the All Progressives Congress winning five of the six chairmanship positions, while the Peoples Democratic Party secured one.
