*10 for 10 – Day of Nahr (sacrifice), greatest day in the Sight of Allah*

Narrated Abdullah ibn Qurt:

The Prophet (๏ทบ) said: * *The greatest day in Allah’s sight is the day of sacrifice and next the day of resting (which ‘Eesa said on the authority of Thawr is the second day).* Five or six sacrificial camels were brought to the Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) and they began to draw near to see which he would sacrifice first. When they fell down dead, he said something in a low voice, which I could not catch. So I asked: What did he say? He was told that he had said: *Anyone who wants can cut off a piece*.

*NOTES ๐Ÿ“*

1. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in Zaad al-Maโ€™aad (1/54): The best of days before Allaah is the Day of Sacrifice, which is the greatest day of Hajj as it says in Sunan Abi Dawood (1765), where it is narrated that the Prophet ๏ทบ said: โ€œ *The greatest of days before Allah is the Day of Sacrifice.โ€ Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood._*

2. It was narrated that Ibn โ€˜Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet ๏ทบ stood between the Jamaraat on the Day of Sacrifice during his Hajj and said, โ€œ *This is the greatest day of Hajj.โ€* Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1742.

3. On this blessed day of Eid al-Adha, let us express our gratitude to Allah by following the beautiful Sunnah acts:

– Performing ghusl before the Eid prayer
– Eating after the prayer, especially for those who are sacrificing (udhiyah)
– Reciting Takbeer, as Allah commands in Surah al-Baqarah (2:185)
– Exchanging congratulations with others, saying “Taqabbala Allaah minna wa minkum” or “Eid Mubaarak” or similar ones that alugn with the Prophet’s sunnah.
– Adorning ourselves with modest and dignified clothing that covers our awrah, avoiding excesses and immodesty
– Taking a different route to and from the Eid prayer
– Focusing on thankfulness, seeking forgiveness, and pardoning others, as Ibn Rajab (rahimahullah) reminded us.

Let us avoid disobedience, such as dressing immodestly, consuming alcohol, abandoning prayer, or engaging in other sinful acts. Instead, let us cherish this blessed day with obedience, gratitude, and joy. Eid Mubaarak!”

*Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing … รƒmeen*

As the joy of this *Sacred* day fills the air, May Allah (S. W) showers his abundant blessings on you and your family, protect you with his divine grace and grant your wishes.
May this Sacred day brings happiness and togetherness to all and heal our dear Nation. AAMEEN

*Yaumun-Nahr, yaumul Hajjal Akbar!*

Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar La iLaha illalLah Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar WalilLahil Hamd!

As you prepare to go to the Eid ground, try and observe the following sunnah:

Perform ghusl before going out to prayer.

On โ€˜Eid al-Adha it is recommended not to eat anything until one comes back from the prayer, so one should eat from the udhiyah if he has offered a sacrifice.

If you are not going to offer a sacrifice there is nothing wrong with eating before the prayer

Adorn yourself in your nice clothes and wear perfume (excluding women).

Continue reciting takbeers

Going to the prayer by one route and returning by another

No Naafil before salatul Eid. Sit down and continue the takbeers

After the Eid prayer, sacrifice your Udhiya (if available)

Remember the takbeers continue till after the Asr prayer of the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.

Eid Mubarak. TaqabbalalLahu minna wa minkum.
