Elon Musk has launched Grokipedia, an online encyclopedia developed by his AI company, xAI, to rival Wikipedia.
Announcing the release on X, Musk said, “Grokipedia version 0.1 is now live,” describing its goal as “the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.” He claimed the platform is already “better than Wikipedia” and will continue to improve alongside his AI system, Grok.
The launch follows a brief delay from its original October 20 date, which Musk said was to remove “propaganda.” He emphasized that Grokipedia is fully open source and free to use.
Musk has long accused Wikipedia of “ideological bias” and urged followers to stop donating to it, calling to “defund Wikipedia until balance is restored.”
Grokipedia builds on Musk’s Grok AI, introduced in 2023 and integrated into X, Tesla vehicles, and the Optimus robot. Tutorials on how to edit and share content on the new AI-powered encyclopedia are now available online.
