FCT Police Charge Regina Daniels’ Brother With Criminal Conspiracy, Theft Following Senator Nwoko’s Petition

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arraigned Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, in an Abuja court over allegations of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the charges stemmed from a petition submitted to the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, naming Ojeogwu and three others.

“On 28th October 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against Samuel Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying,” Adeh stated.

According to the spokesperson, Ojeogwu initially ignored several police invitations before being arrested in Lagos and transported to Abuja for questioning.

“Following receipt of the petition, multiple invitations were sent to Mr. Ojeogwu for questioning, which he failed to honour. He was subsequently arrested in Lagos under a valid court-issued warrant and conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” she added.

After concluding investigations, Ojeogwu was arraigned on November 6, 2025, and charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft. He remains in custody pending fulfillment of bail conditions.

Adeh reaffirmed the FCT Police Command’s commitment to professionalism and adherence to due process and the rule of law.

Earlier reports indicated that Senator Ned Nwoko and the Nigerian Police were allegedly attempting to intimidate Regina Daniels’ family, pressuring them to apologize and facilitate her return to a rehabilitation center in Abuja.

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore revealed that, following his intervention in Daniels’ case, threats were reportedly directed at her family, including plans to arrest and prosecute her mother. Sowore condemned what he described as impunity within the police hierarchy under IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

He stated, “After our intervention, Senator Ned Nwoko and his collaborators began threatening Regina Daniels’ family, insisting they apologize and facilitate her return to rehab. There were also plans to arraign her mother and commit her to prison. We must stand firm against this impunity.”Headline news
