Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, issued a stern warning to the recently appointed Chief Executive Officers and directors of agencies under his ministry, urging them to steer clear of poor performance. The directive came during the inauguration and induction ceremony of the newly appointed executives in Abuja on Thursday.
Keyamo emphasized his commitment to fostering accountability and efficient governance within the aviation sector, making it clear that individuals implicated in corruption cases would face the consequences and be handed over to relevant authorities.
Expressing his intolerance for non-performance, Keyamo highlighted the aviation sector’s crucial role in the administration’s renewed hope agenda. He stressed that public office is a privilege and urged those solely focused on financial gains to resign promptly.
Addressing potential corruption, Keyamo asserted, “If you get involved in corruption in your offices, I will be the first person to hand you over to appropriate agencies for embezzling government funds. I will not allow anyone to mess me up.”
In a symbolic move, the minister also formalized his commitment by signing a performance bond with the newly appointed CEOs.
