The Federal Government has announced an improvement in electricity supply following the repair of the vandalised Lagos–Escravos gas pipeline.
The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) said the restoration, carried out by the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company, has increased gas supply to key thermal power plants nationwide.

According to NISO, affected plants have begun gradual power offtake to ensure grid stability and prevent system stress. Other thermal plants are also on standby and will be integrated into the national grid once gas supply is confirmed.

The agency said the development is expected to stabilise electricity supply and improve grid reliability across the country, adding that it is working with stakeholders to sustain the gains and reduce outages.
