Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Works, Senator David Nweze Umahi, for the significant progress and quality of work being executed on the Benin-Sapele-Effurun Expressway.
The senator, in a statement, acknowledged that his earlier correspondence to the Ministry of Works, along with sustained engagements, has contributed to the renewed attention the project has received—ultimately bringing much-needed relief to commuters and businesses dependent on the critical highway.
He also hailed the recent flag-off of the reconstruction of the Benin-Asaba Expressway, describing it as further evidence of President Tinubu’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s vital infrastructure. Senator Dafinone emphasized that both road projects are essential not just for the economic advancement of Delta State and the Niger Delta region but also for strengthening national integration and facilitating trade.
“The commitment of the Tinubu administration to infrastructure renewal is evident in the steady progress being recorded on strategic roads that had long been neglected. The ongoing work on the Benin-Sapele-Effurun Expressway and the reconstruction of the Benin-Asaba route reflect the president’s clear vision for a more connected and prosperous Nigeria,” Dafinone said.
He commended Minister Umahi for his proactive leadership and practical oversight, noting that the minister’s field-driven approach has ensured that road projects of national significance are prioritized and adequately funded.
“The Ministry of Works’ focus on quality execution aligns with the federal government’s broader strategy to enhance road networks, drive economic development, and improve mobility across the country,” he added.
Senator Dafinone urged Nigerians—particularly the people of the Niger Delta—to continue supporting the Tinubu-led administration as it pushes forward with its economic and infrastructural renewal agenda.
